Director of Development
The Alliance of Idaho | Hailey, Idaho
Salary: $80,000–$95,000, depending on experience
Benefits: Medical and dental insurance
Schedule: Four-day work week | Hybrid
The Alliance of Idaho is looking for an experienced, creative, relationship-centered Director of Development to help us build the fundraising program that will sustain our next chapter of growth.
About The Alliance
The Alliance of Idaho is a nonprofit immigration legal services organization serving families in Blaine County and communities throughout rural Idaho. We help people navigate an immigration system that can be complicated, stressful, and constantly changing.
Our office is busy, collaborative, and deeply committed to our clients. In immigration law, details matter. Paperwork can save lives. An appointment scheduled on time, a document placed in the right file, or a message quickly delivered to an attorney can make an enormous difference.
We currently raise approximately $750,000 annually, and we are looking for someone who can help us build toward $1.5 million in sustainable annual fundraising.
What You’ll Do
At its heart, this is a relationship-building job. You’ll work closely with our Executive Director, staff, Board, donors, and community to:
Build and lead The Alliance’s overall fundraising strategy
Develop meaningful relationships with current and prospective donors
Grow our major gifts and individual giving programs
Lead foundation and grant fundraising'
Create gatherings and other opportunities that bring people closer to our work
Strengthen the systems we use to track, acknowledge, and steward donors
Help our Executive Director and Board become even more effective fundraisers
Work with our communications team to tell compelling stories about The Alliance’s work and impact
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who:
Has significant nonprofit fundraising experience
Has successfully cultivated major donors and grown contributed revenue
Loves building genuine relationships with people
Is a strong writer, communicator, and storyteller
Can think strategically and make things happen
Is organized and comfortable building systems
Enjoys working collaboratively rather than operating in a silo
Believes deeply in dignity, justice, belonging, and the rights of immigrant families
What It’s Like to Work Here
The work we do is serious. Our workplace doesn’t have to be.
We are a collaborative, creative team that works hard, laughs a lot, shares ideas freely, and steps in for one another. We believe people can do difficult and meaningful work without making the workplace itself difficult.
We also believe rest matters. Our staff works a four-day week, Monday–Thursday, because taking care of the people doing the work is part of taking care of the work itself.
This is a hybrid position based in Hailey, Idaho. The Director of Development should plan to work from The Alliance office approximately two days each week and meet regularly in person with donors and community partners. If you are excited about helping a growing organization build the relationships and resources it needs to serve immigrant families across rural Idaho, we’d love to hear from you.
How to Apply
Please send a resume and brief cover letter to our Executive Director Becky Lopez at becky@allianceofidaho.org telling us a little about yourself, your fundraising experience, and why you’re interested in joining The Alliance of Idaho. We know that great candidates don’t always meet every qualification listed in a job posting. If this work speaks to you and you believe you could help The Alliance grow, we encourage you to apply.
Deadline: October 1, 2026
